In the green valleys of the Upper Kysuce, there spreads the village of Korňa. The village linked with a part of the parish of Turzovka is located in the proximity of only a few kilometres distant district town of Čadca, surrounded by the wilderness of the Beskydy Mountains, bordered by the Czech Republic in the northwest.
Due to its permanently green mountains, clean brooks and mountain streams, due to the old wooden houses preserved up to now and due to many other characteristic features of Korňa, the tourist industry could develop here. It is worth mentioning that nowadays, Korňa is one of the most significant agro-tourist centres of the Kysuce region. The visitors can enjoy horse riding, fishing, picnicking in the country, admiring the beauty and wisdom of the nature such as it used to be and such as it has already been forgotten (for example a grouping of aged limetrees on the hill of Víglas). The people interested in cycling can take advantage of the marked tourist trails, those enjoying cross country skiing can use the well kept skiing traces. There are two high quality ski lifts being at disposal to downhill skiers.
